About My Integrative Approach to Mental Health

My shift toward integrative mental health is an expansion, not a departure, from my roots in traditional psychotherapy. Over the years, seeing growing numbers of people with chronic health issues and autoimmune disease has inspired a desire to better understand the roles of root cause factors such as nutrition, gut health, inflammation, hormones, and lifestyle patterns in shaping mental wellness and overall health. That curiosity led me to pursue advanced training in functional medicine, with and emphasis in integrative and holistic mental health. Instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all model, I use comprehensive assessments to understand how mood, cognition, energy levels, and overall health and wellness may be impacted by factors such as:

·       The gut microbiome health and digestion

·       Nutrition and metabolism

·       Chronic stress and cortisol patterns

·       The vagus nerve and nervous system imbalance

·       Inflammation and immune responses

·       Sleep quality and circadian rhythm

·       Lifestyle patterns

I combine evidence-based psychological therapies with an integrative lens that considers the complex interplay between mind, body, and daily life. I work collaboratively with clients to uncover root influences, build insight, and create personalized plans that facilitate meaningful, sustainable change.

Compassionate, Root-Cause-Informed Care

At the heart of my practice is a simple belief: healing happens when you feel informed, supported, and truly understood. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and always tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, depression, physical pain, chronic health concerns, or simply seeking to optimize your well-being, we will work together to find a way forward on your goals for your health.

Working with Me

Choosing to begin therapy is an important investment — one that involves time, openness, commitment to making meaningful changes, and a financial investment in your well-being. It is critical to me that care feels as accessible as possible. This, we will work together to find strategies and approaches that are realistic for your budget and your life so that you can feel empowered to make the changes that are important to you. Together, we will identify meaningful and achievable changes and explore any barriers that may be impeding progress.

I often provide “homework” between sessions to help you apply insights in daily life and deepen your growth. This between-sessions work is the most essential piece in cultivating change and it can be challenging to change long-standing patterns. Because my integrative approach looks at the whole person, your treatment may also include various forms of health assessments to better understand the biological and lifestyle factors influencing your mental health.

Collaboration is central to my work. With your permission, I am always happy — and believe it is often essential — to coordinate with other healthcare professionals involved in your care, including your primary care physician, psychiatrist, or therapist. This teamwork ensures that you receive the most comprehensive, whole-person care available.
