About Me
Welcome, I’m Dr. Kirsten Carraway, a licensed psychologist in the state of California with 25+ years of experience supporting individuals in cultivating emotional and physical well-being. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida, where I also developed a strong research foundation. I’m trained to conduct research, evaluate the methodological quality of studies, and translate credible scientific findings into practical, individualized treatment.
Throughout my career, I have practiced traditional psychotherapy, and this continues to deeply inform my work. Grounded in humanistic psychology, I understand that the relational aspects of therapy — empathy, connection, trust, and authenticity — are essential to healing. My therapeutic style is eclectic and flexible. I draw from a wide range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Adaptive Information Processing, and other trauma-informed frameworks, allowing me to tailor the work to each person’s unique needs and experiences.
